SAN ANGELO – “There are NO guarantees in life except for the very moment you are in.... Don't waste it.”

While in life that quote may be true, one thing is guaranteed football-wise for sure, Lake View Chief’s Head Coach, Hector Guevara’s team will be in the playoffs this upcoming season due to its being realigned from Class 5A to 4A.
The 4A Chiefs are assured of a playoff spot due to their being in a four team district which includes its three other opponents: the Seminole Indians, Andrews Mustangs and the Big Spring Steers.

The 2018 Lake View Chiefs’ football team was scheduled to be on the field at San Angelo Stadium for a 6:30 p.m. scrimmage against the Pecos Eagles. The first scrimmage played at 5 p.m. was the Chiefs' 9th grade and Junior varsity teams.

In 2017, Guevara and his staff’s first year at Lake View resulted in an 0-10 record. With 17 returning starters, a season under their belts with the spread offense, and, assured of a playoff berth, the Chiefs first goal to earn that spot is to take care of business with this evening’s scrimmage against the Eagles.
