SAN ANGELO – This year’s 2024 “Pride of the Northside” Lake View senior class of 205 represented resilience, achievement, navigated challenges, embraced opportunities, the spirit of collaboration, and emerged as leaders of tomorrow, stated LVHS Principal, Zach Ramirez in his opening remarks to family, friends, and SAISD Board of Trustees.

In class Salutatorian, Ian Cortez’ speech, he told his fellow graduates his father who was also a coach, “took that serious but shy and scared kid, and turned a small spark into a furnace of dedication, and perseverance. We are all winners through personal challenges, and struggles that we have all faced” stated Cortez.

The ‘024 Valedictorian, Gabrielle Flores, told her senior class she accomplished her wildest dreams because of her parents’ love, and belief in their youngest daughter.
“Don’t stop dreaming, and have a good time. Live in the moment and appreciate what life has already given you” concluded Flores.

Principal Ramirez presented plaques which had inscribed to both Cortez and Flores, “Is awarded this certificate for achieving high honors in Scholarship at Lake View High School.”

SAISD School Board Trustee Mr. Bill Dendle addressed the senior graduates with his top 10 quotes from “Think and Grow Rich” author, Napolean Hill. Hill’s book published in 1937 sold over 100 million copies, worldwide. Here are just five.
“A goal is a dream with a deadline.”
“The way of success is the way of continuous pursuit of knowledge.”
“Every adversity, every failure, every heartbreak carries with it the seed of an equal or greater benefit.”
“If you cannot do great things, do small things in a great way.”
“Happiness is found in doing, not merely possessing.”

“The values of the Northside Pride will guide you through’s life everchanging landscapes, hard work, passion, and tenacity to this significant milestone; embrace the future with courage, kindness, and the knowledge that you carry the spirit of Lake View where ever you go,” said Principal Ramirez.
