Officer Blysma who is the project coordinator for Operation Blue Santa, and 25 blue guardian angel “elf helpers” each were appointed one child to take Christmas shopping at Walmart Supercenter, 610 West 29th Street. The holiday Blue Santa shopping spree for the kids was held from 9 a.m. – 1:30 p.m.

Traffic Officer, Blysma stated that the OBS Program partnered with the San Angelo Independent School District “We basically get the names of kids from at risk coordinators and counselors who select the children which would benefit from the program.”

40 elementary kids were chosen as each one was given $250 to spend on themselves and their family members.

The money that was used for the children to purchase the toys, ranged from bicycles to Nerf Rival Phantom Corps Hades XVIII-6000, and a mini mighty Megasaur, dinosaur, etc. A total of $17,00 that was raised was donated by the community’s generosity for which Blysma was thankful to.

“Christmas is about sharing, giving and taking care of each other.” “This is our way of reaching out to the community through the Blue Santa program, concluded Blymsa.
