SAN ANGELO – Normally Halloween comes in the fall on October 31st. However, "Paranormal Cirque" brought their own ghastly summer Halloween, horror show version to San Angelo over the four-day weekend. There were sightings of wickedly, sexy vampires, ghoulish zombies, mysterious creatures, and freaks under the black and red tent.

This Supernatural phenomenon which combines part circus, theater, and cabaret, kicked-off its performances, June 25- 28, 2020.

The 15 scheduled, dangerous acts included jaw-dropping Wheel of Death, the infamous Cyr wheel, aerial silks, etc. Paranormal’s traveling show was set up in the Sunset Mall’s parking lot, 4001 Sunset Drive.

Among the various acrobats, illusionist, and contortionist was one vampire, Miss Olivia Mattice. Mattice was among the wickedly sexy vampires to grace the stage with her lovely statuesque presence. The 5'10" beauty has been performing this character for a while.

By day, Olivia is a manager at Paranormal Cirque. But at night, she turns into a wickedly, sexy vampire of her domain. Olivia was interviewed Saturday afternoon, June 27 prior to the 3:30 p.m. performance. When Flaco Guapo Media spoke with Olivia underneath the tent, sans her vampire attire, the axiom, “You can’t judge a book by its cover” came to mind. Because the wickedly, sexy vampire, she plays on stage, is not who she is in real life. That is just a character she plays. Case in point—one of the questions this reporter asked her, revealed a thoughtful, person. “Say humble, balanced, graceful, confident, and thankful.” Mattice also informed me that prior to going on stage to perform, her mantra includes prayer.

"I don't bite. . .unless you like that sort of thing." "Then, by all means, tell me where!"

Q: “Do you ever pinch yourself and wonder how you ever got to be a part of Paranormal Cirque ”
A: “It really became a childhood dream that was fulfilled” said, Mattice.

Olivia’s wickedly sense of humor came through when she was asked what does she do to stay in shape for all those performances? To paraphrase her. One thing is for sure; there are no extra practices she stated, “tongue in cheek.” Mattice does enough of a workout on stage, without overdoing it!

Q: “Oliva what piece of advice would you give to young girls who aspire to achieve their dreams?”
A: “Don’t dream it, be it!” “Be spontaneous and get out of your comfort zone,” said Mattice.

Olivia concluded the interview by saying that she works with a great group of professionals and staff who are the best at what they do.

It was evident in the way the show ended as performers danced to pop star, Michael Jackson’s “Thriller.” It was producer James G.’s idea to incorporate Jackson’s 1982 classic as the finale closer.

Thriller- Michael Jackson

“Thriller tonight
Night creatures callin'
The dead start to walk in their masquerade
There's no escaping the jaws of the alien this time
(They're open wide)
This is the end of your life
They're out to get you
There's demons closing in on every side
They will possess you”

Olivia’s closing words to the attendees was part vampire, the other, human. “Stay weird and stay healthy.”
