SAN ANGELO – What does the number six have in common with the 29th annual, West Texas Bridal Showcase? In Miss Laura Olivarez’ case, everything as she was a last-minute entry and contestant number six to compete with five other women for a diamond-like shaped fake ring, embedded in an eight-tier vanilla cake, created by Yvonne’s Happy Tiers.

Far left in the back and wearing a pink t-shirt is Yvonne Rodriguez. She is the owner of Yvonne's Happy Tiers and who made the eight-tier, vanilla cake.

Once KIXY FM radio personality, Rick Andrews, told the ladies to give him a thumbs up, he counted them down to 3-2-1 and it was every, “man, uh woman” for herself to dig out the fake ring.

In the end, at the 4:23 mark, the winner turned out to be---Miss Olivarez who was not even supposed to be the sixth entry. Because during the drawing of names by KIXY FM air staff, she became the final contestant due to another name being drawn ahead of her who was not there.
